Karnataka Govt finally allows all to buy, own farmland.
Previously Non agriculturists were forbidden from purchasing farmland in Karnataka. The land revenue act permitted only farmers with valid RTC (Record of rights, tenancy and crops) and a certain limit of income to purchase farmlands.
Worry no more; the Hon’ble state Govt has now made changes to the Land Reforms Act 1961 through an ordinance to allow non-agriculturists to buy and own farmland for farming.
"Sections 79 A, B and C of the act have been repealed, paving way for bona fide citizens to invest in farmland and take to farming as a hobby, passion or additional occupation, which is rewarding,"
The amendment act will enable to boost food output which is the need of the hour. The farm sector's contribution to the state's gross domestic product (GDP) has been less than manufacturing and service sectors over the last 2 decades.
Hundreds of people who have been in diverse professions, like business, services, manufacturing, hospitality, education, health and teaching, will get a rare opportunity to take up commercial farming and also serve the nation. Purchasing farmlands can serve as a great investment opportunity and most importantly fetch Multifood land appreciation.
Propertyz24 welcomes the decision of Hon’ble Government of Karnataka to allow everyone to buy farmland irrespective of their occupation or profession.
